چکیده
Abstract Fish transportation is a regular farming and experimental practice that mainly results in stress conditions may extend to induce high mortality rate. In the present simulation, Oreochromis niloticus were transported for 2 h maintained another 6 containers assess effect of tranquilization with tricaine methanesulfonate (MS-222) and/or addition iodine on rate restoring normal physiological functions. Experimental fish divided into four groups: group 1 (control) was farm water without MS-222 or iodine, (2) supplemented 40 mg/L MS-222, (3) + 10 ppm (4) containing iodine. Blood samples collected determination serum cortisol glucose, while skin mucus assaying lysozyme, peroxidase antibacterial activity; cumulative rate; food reflexes which assessed at 0 h, 48 7 days 14 post transportation. The indicated treatment mitigated condition associated accelerate restoration immunological status. So, it recommended use as tranquillizer together an antiseptic during O. .

Protective role of adjuvant and potassium permanganate on oxidative stress response of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) challenged with Saprolegnia ferax
Saprolegniosis are one of the most important oomycetes affecting freshwater fish worldwide. It leads to huge losses in fish farms due to their massive destruction to the fish epidermis leading to sever heamodilution and death, yet little literature studied the oxidative stress response regarding the saprolegniosis. Nile tilapia fish were subcutaneously abraded and divided into four groups: cont...
متن کاملComparative transcriptome analysis of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in response to alkalinity stress.
To identify genes of potential importance to alkalinity tolerance, RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) was performed to survey gill transcriptome profiles from freshwater (FW) and alkaline water (AW) exposed Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). A total of 22,724,036 (AW)/16,461,040 (FW) single-end reads were generated in which 20,304,348 (AW)/14,681,290 (FW) reads (90.0/89.72%) were aligned to the refere...
متن کاملProtective effect of hydroferrate fluid, MRN-100, against lethality and hematopoietic tissue damage in γ-radiated Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus
Hydroferrate fluid, MRN-100, an iron-based compound derived from bivalent and trivalent ferrates, is a potent antioxidant compound. Therefore, we examined the protective effect of MRN-100 against γ-radiation-induced lethality and damage to hematopoietic tissues in fish. A total of 216 Nile tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) were randomly divided into four groups. Group 1 served as a control t...
متن کاملMetacercarial Infection of Wild Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) from Brazil
Fingerlings of Oreochromis niloticus collected in an artificial urban lake from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, were evaluated for natural infection with trematodes. Morphological taxonomic identification of four fluke species was performed in O. niloticus examined, and the total prevalence of metacercariae was 60.7% (37/61). Centrocestus formosanus, a heterophyid found in the gills, was ...
متن کاملVisual communication stimulates reproduction in Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (L.).
Reproductive fish behavior is affected by male-female interactions that stimulate physiological responses such as hormonal release and gonad development. During male-female interactions, visual and chemical communication can modulate fish reproduction. The aim of the present study was to test the effect of visual and chemical male-female interaction on the gonad development and reproductive beh...
